We're looking for a dedicated Textiles Service Assistant III – Back-Up Tram Driver to support our healthcare environment by ensuring clean textiles are delivered efficiently and safely across our facilities.

Location: ChristianaCare - Newark campus
Schedule: Varied hours with every other weekend required

What You'll Do:
  • Be a vital part of our healthcare support team by exchanging clean and soiled textile carts between units and the Textiles department.
  • Operate tram equipment safely and responsibly, ensuring timely deliveries.
  • Maintain tram integrity through daily safety checks and reporting any issues.
  • Interact with nursing staff, patients, and visitors with professionalism and a friendly attitude.
  • Uphold our Core Values of Excellence and Love in every task you perform.
  • Work safely and responsibly in patient care areas, always wearing required safety gear.
What We're Looking For:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: Six months of tram or forklift experience is a plus.
  • Skills: Strong communication, good judgment, and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Requirements: Valid driver's license and willingness to complete in-house tram certification.

Physical & Safety Requirements:
  • Must pass a physical exam (including vision, hearing, and mobility).
  • Exposure to equipment and soiled laundry is part of the role.
  • Safety gear, including helmets, is required during tram operation.

This position has a starting rate of $18.08 per hour, regardless of prior experience. After six months of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $21.15 per hour. After one year of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $22.18 per hour.This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
