Primary Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include motivating and leading all team members and departments to support the company's mission and goals in revenue sustainability and growth. Lead the organizational chart which includes department managers and team members. Serving as a member of the Executive Team, this position's responsibilities are to include operational effectiveness by displaying leadership for the complete organization's operational function.
- Improve operational systems, processes and policies in support of the organizations mission – specifically, support better management, business processes and planning
- Manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of support services through improvements to each function as well as coordination and communication between support and sales functions
- Manage, motivate and lead all team managers that report directly
- Support the company's revenue stream
- Contribute to the development and implementation of organizational strategies
- Interact with Sales and Marketing teams in a way that is positive, supports growth,
Support Functions/Responsibilities
- Coaching/managing department managers on a daily/weekly basis ensuring the highest result as it relates to meeting and exceeding company expectations for a successful mission which include Warehousing, facility, event, production, storage and care.
- Play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence.
- Financial management, budgeting, systems and controls.
- Manage departmental expenditures and assist with operation capital expenses.
- Oversee payroll timecard management and accruing benefits.
- Organization of all purchasing / tracking / approving / handling receipts.
- Regular meetings with ownership.
Operational Functions
- Maintain archival and administrative files
- Manage DOT compliance with state requirements in fleet vehicles and personnel.
- Ensure all departmental requests are resolved and communicated in a timely manner to internal and external parties
- Develop short-long term goals for operational excellence.
- Develop, maintain and monitor tasks and procedures.
- Recommend and implement improvements to processes and all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)'s created.
- Oversee Event Logistics Managers, Production Managers, ensuring delivery systems are efficient and effective for successful client relations and excellent customer service.
- Ensure all events are being managed properly to increase operational efficiencies
- Coordinate involvement of sales team event details.
- Hiring / Firing of all employees
- Performance Review program managed.
- Responsible for Inventory management.
- Identifying potential problems and points of friction and working to find solutions to maximize efficiency and revenue.
Risk Management
- Monitor all workers' compensation claims
- Manage all incidents/accidents relating to work injuries / vehicle accidents
- Develop and maintain safety program with organization
- Monitor facility security and grounds.
- Develop and manage all training and ensure department managers are adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)'s and product training modules developed
Nature of the Work:
Apply logical thinking to a wide range of problems, collect data, draw conclusions and offer constructive opinions concerning day-to-day activities within operation. Manage department leaders and company goals. Travel as needed or requested. Requires as much customer on-site monitoring as needed with event management.
Working Conditions:
Operations Manager works in an office setting, often working a 40–60-hour week. They may work longer hours to meet deadlines. Depending on the event, some positions may require physical activity and exposure to external weather conditions. Physical activities may include bending, climbing, crouching, and other mechanically related physical demands.
Education, Skills & Requirements:
· At least 3 years' experience in Event Rental Management
· Strong background and work experience
· Must maintain a VALID driver's license.
· Must maintain a professional personal appearance
· Must display a high level of initiative, effort and commitment towards completing assignments efficiently
· Budget development and oversight experience
· Excellent people manager, open to direction and collaborative work style and commitment to get work done
· Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the company
· Persuasive with details and facts
· Delegate responsibilities well
· Must be able to use mathematics to solve problems
· The ability to speak other languages is a plus
· Must pass a company drug screen if asked
· Must maintain an acceptable attendance record
· Must have full range of motion and dexterity
· Must be able to provide, understand and complete instructions furnished in written, oral or scheduled form
· Maintain a cooperative working relationship with co-workers
· Must be able maintain a high degree of patience and offer constructive criticism when necessary, with a positive attitude.
· Must be flexible with working hours.
· Organizational skills and the flexibility to jump from priority to priority, which are essential to a role that juggles a variety of functions and projects
