Position Summary
The Scheduler is responsible for supporting CFE International's natural gas marketing operations through the management of nominations, scheduling, and monitoring of transportation, purchases, sales, and storage of gas. This position ensures efficient gas delivery aligned with commercial strategies, cost objectives, profit maximization, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Nominate, schedule, and confirm gas transportation and storage, ensuring alignment with pipeline contracts and commercial terms.
- Monitor flow data and pipeline bulletins in every cycle; adjust nominations to manage imbalances and resolve supply interruptions.
- Track operational notices, outages, and capacity changes; communicate impacts promptly to traders, operations teams, and counterparties.
- Optimize supply and transportation costs by aligning nominations with purchase-and-sale obligations and asset economics.
- Reconcile daily and monthly pipeline statements, research discrepancies, and validate charges before settlement.
- Compile operational metrics and scheduling reports for internal performance reviews and strategic analysis.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with pipeline schedulers and control rooms to ensure accurate, real-time communication.
- Provide after-hours, weekend, and holiday on-call coverage during critical periods.
- Assist in onboarding and mentoring new schedulers, sharing best practices and system know-how.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, Finance or related field.
Experience
- 3+ years in scheduling, supply-chain coordination, or energy-logistics roles with tight operational timelines.
Skills & Knowledge
- Advanced Excel and strong aptitude for learning specialized scheduling systems.
- Sharp analytical skills and attention to detail when balancing volumes and reconciling data.
- Commercial insight and clear understanding of how operational decisions affect financial outcomes.
- Ability to analyze complex operational situations, identify root causes, and implement practical solutions.
- Effective written and verbal communication for coordinating with internal teams and counterparties.
- Ability and willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays; maintain composure under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with natural-gas pipeline operations, electronic bulletin boards (EBBs), and energy-trading or ETRM platforms.
- Understanding of U.S. regulatory standards (e.g., FERC, NAESB) and cross-border gas logistics.

El Scheduler es responsable de apoyar en las operaciones de comercialización de gas natural de CFE International mediante la gestión de nominaciones, programación y monitoreo del transporte, compras, ventas y almacenamiento de gas. Este puesto asegura una entrega eficiente del gas, alineada con las estrategias comerciales, objetivos de costo, maximización del beneficio y cumplimiento regulatorio.
Principales responsabilidades
- Nominar, programar y confirmar el transporte y almacenamiento de gas, garantizando el cumplimiento de los contratos de gasoducto y las condiciones comerciales.
- Monitorear datos de flujo y boletines de gasoducto en cada ciclo; ajustar las nominaciones para gestionar desequilibrios y resolver interrupciones de suministro.
- Dar seguimiento a avisos operativos, cortes y cambios de capacidad; comunicar los impactos con prontitud a traders, equipos operativos y contrapartes.
- Optimizar los costos de suministro y transporte alineando las nominaciones con los compromisos de compraventa y la economía de los activos.
- Conciliar estados de cuenta diarios y mensuales de gasoducto, investigar discrepancias y validar cargos antes de su liquidación.
- Compilar métricas operativas e informes de programación para revisiones de desempeño y análisis estratégico interno.
- Actuar como punto de contacto principal con schedulers de gasoductos y centros de control para garantizar comunicación precisa en tiempo real.
- Brindar cobertura de guardia fuera de horario, fines de semana y días festivos en periodos críticos.
- Apoyar la incorporación y mentoría de nuevos schedulers, compartiendo mejores prácticas y conocimientos de sistemas.
Requisitos
Educación
- Licenciatura en Negocios, Ingeniería, Economía, Finanzas o campo relacionado.
Experiencia
- 3 o más años en programación, coordinación de cadena de suministro o logística energética con plazos operativos estrictos.
Habilidades y conocimientos
- Excel avanzado y capacidad para aprender sistemas especializados de programación.
- Habilidades analíticas y atención al detalle para equilibrar volúmenes y conciliar datos.
- Perspectiva comercial y comprensión clara del impacto de las operaciones en los resultados financieros.
- Capacidad para analizar situaciones operativas complejas, identificar causas raíz e implementar soluciones prácticas.
- Comunicación verbal y escrita efectiva para coordinar con equipos internos y contrapartes.
- Capacidad y disposición para trabajar turnos rotativos, fines de semana y días festivos; mantener la calma bajo presión.
