Overview

Opportunity: Corporate Accounting Manager

HHM Hotels is a leading hotel management and investment company with a portfolio of over 240 hotels and resorts spanning North America. The organization takes pride in operating over 50 independent luxury and lifestyle hotels as well as premium branded hotels in urban and resort markets.

The Corporate Accounting Manager will play a critical role in leading the day-to-day execution of the company's financial reporting and corporate accounting functions. This individual will oversee the accounting team, ensure accurate and timely reporting, and support the Controller in driving best-in-class processes and internal controls. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, a desire to optimize and enhance processes, and a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.

Essential Job Functions

Financial Reporting

  • Oversee preparation of timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Partner with FP&A and operations teams to provide insights that drive business performance.
  • Manage the coordination and completion of external audits, including serving as the primary liaison with external auditors.
  • Research and assist with the implementation of new accounting standards as required.

Corporate Accounting

  • Lead the daily operations of the corporate accounting function, including general ledger, reconciliations, and consolidations.
  • Lead the shared services function, that services the accounting needs for 240+ properties.
  • Oversee and review month-end close processes to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Develop, document, and maintain effective accounting policies, processes and internal controls.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop members of the accounting team.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Public accounting experience (Big 4 or mid-tier) strongly desired.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls.
  • Experience with multi-entity consolidations; hospitality or real estate industry experience a plus.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
