We are an elevated wine bar and lounge offering a refined yet inviting experience centered around premium wines, a full spirits program, and a curated menu of chef-driven small plates and entrees. Our focus is exceptional hospitality, thoughtful beverage curation, and creating memorable evenings for our guests. We are seeking a dynamic, polished, and hospitality-driven General Manager to lead daily operations and uphold our standard of excellence.
Position Summary
The General Manager oversees all aspects of the wine bar and lounge's operations, ensuring an exceptional guest experience while driving financial performance and maintaining a culture of professionalism and hospitality. This leader will guide front-of-house and bar teams, collaborate closely with the culinary team, and steward the integrity of our beverage program—particularly our premium wine offerings.
Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Experience & Service Leadership
- Uphold and embody a luxury-hospitality approach with genuine warmth and attention to detail.
- Maintain a strong floor presence during peak hours, ensuring execution of service standards.
- Handle guest concerns with discretion, professionalism, and swift resolution.
Team Management & Development
- Recruit, hire, train, and mentor FOH, bar, and support staff.
- Conduct ongoing coaching, performance reviews, and service education—especially around wine and spirits knowledge.
- Foster a positive, engaged, high-accountability work culture.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee daily operations including opening/closing procedures, cleanliness, maintenance, and ambiance.
- Develop and maintain SOPs to ensure consistent service and operational flow.
- Partner with the culinary team to ensure seamless coordination between kitchen and service.
Financial Management
- Manage labor, cost of goods, and operational expenses to achieve budgetary targets.
- Review and analyze P&L statements, adjusting strategies as needed.
- Oversee inventory, purchasing, vendor relationships, and monthly inventory audits.
Beverage & Culinary Program Support
- Collaborate with ownership to maintain and elevate the wine program, including selections, training, and merchandising.
- Support bar program development, seasonal menu updates, and specialty offerings.
- Ensure staff is well-versed in all wine, cocktail, and food items.
Marketing & Community Engagement
- Work with ownership and marketing partners on promotional events, wine tastings, and special experiences.
- Uphold brand identity through presentation, partnerships, and community presence.
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of leadership experience in upscale or fine-casual wine bars, lounges, or full-service restaurants.
- Strong wine knowledge required; formal certification (WSET, CMS, or equivalent) is a plus.
- Proven track record in team leadership, guest relations, and operational management.
- Exceptional communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-expectation environment.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Pay: $50, $70,000.00 per year
