The College Board is launching a new exploratory effort to design and scale innovative ways for students to build durable skills — the collaboration, problem-solving, and communication abilities that employers value and that students carry with them for life.
Our team is in an exciting build phase — shaping the technology, people, and processes that will bring this program to life. We're assembling a cross-functional group of designers, engineers, product managers, and researchers who thrive on solving meaningful problems. Together, we're building tools that:
- Help teachers guide students through real-world, employer-driven projects
- Enable students to practice and strengthen durable, transferable skills while building professional connections
- Make it easier for employers to engage with future talent and invest in their communities

About the Opportunity
As a Product Manager on this team, you will help shape and build a potential work-based learning program that connects classrooms to the real world. In this program, we aim for students to: Take on real business challenges from real employers, collaborate in small teams to analyze problems and propose solutions and gain firsthand experience working with professionals, building the social capital and confidence that open doors to future opportunities.
As the Product Manager, you are an innovative and driven Product leader who will lead the product build out to scale the Work-Based Learning program from thousands of students to tens of thousands of students – ensuring a high-quality experience for students, educators, and business partners. Leveraging your background and experience, you'll drive best practices and methods to help the program and its team thrive. This PM will bring an end user-focused and organizationally aware mindset; they are inquisitive and possess tremendous learning agility; they engage in creative problem solving and out-of-the-box thinking; they constantly seek useful information that can shape their products for the good of those our products serve; and they build strong, productive relationships while guiding, leading, and nurturing their teams and stakeholders to produce tremendous value for our users.
In this role you will
Lead Product Development (50%)
- Collaborate with the leadership of the program and other key stakeholders to set product priorities that meet economic and mission KPI for the program
- Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to understand user needs to create a detailed product roadmap
- Spearhead the ideation, design, and development of the program to scale, ensuring alignment with College Board's mission
- Develop and prioritize product features and requirements based on customer feedback and market needs
- Maintain high standards of quality, usability, and customer satisfaction throughout the product development lifecycle
- Collaborate with team members on user interviews, focus groups, usability tests, etc. to help shape the design and development of products and services
Management (50%)
- Lead a multi-disciplinary team including a service designer and an engineering team to learn, iterate, and execute against priorities
- Establish processes and timelines to evaluate ideas, determine viability, and iteratively test and scale new programs and services

- A deep excitement about the challenge of defining and developing a new product and business line from scratch
- Ability to travel on behalf of College Board 3-5 times per year

About Our Process
- Application review will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. This role is expected to accept applications for a minimum of 5 business days.

- The hiring range for this role is $184,000-$250,000.
- Your exact salary will depend on your location, experience, and how your background compares to others in similar roles at the College Board.
