About the role

We are seeking a Principal Product Manager to drive the vision, strategy, and execution for a core area of our business. This is a senior, strategic individual contributor role with a scope and influence equivalent to a director level. You will be responsible for solving our most complex and ambiguous challenges, leading large-scale projects that have a significant, bottom-line impact on the entire company.

You will leverage a deep understanding of the market, our customers, and our technical capabilities to launch entirely new product suites and reinvent our current product storyline. As a pragmatic and inspiring leader, you will motivate multiple teams, mentor other product managers, and effectively leverage a broad set of resources to achieve ambitious goals. This role requires a blend of deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to build consensus and drive execution across the organization.

What You'll do:

  • Define and Drive Strategy: Develop and champion a compelling 1+ year vision for your product domain that influences the charter of other teams and departments. Author business cases, innovate on pricing and Go-to-Market strategies, and make key "build, buy, or partner" decisions that may have company-wide impact. This includes conducting customer and market research, developing and refining product strategy and roadmap
  • Lead Product Execution: Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of very complex, company-impacting products, from "zero to one" (inception to GA). Scope and manage our most strategic technical projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and with high quality. Launch new products and features, test their performance, and iterate quickly
  • Technical Thoughtleadership: Independently solve challenging technical issues without escalation and provide technical direction to customers and internal teams. Stay current with the latest technology trends and share those learnings to elevate the entire team.
  • Cross-Functional Influence: Lead large projects across one or more teams, partnering with managers to drive them to completion. Proactively identify and manage complex, multi-tiered dependencies across the organization. Work collaboratively with engineering, sales, marketing, UX, and other teams to deliver the product roadmap
  • Customer & Data-Driven Insights: Develop strategic customer engagement plans and build relationships with customer executives to uncover novel insights and unspoken needs. Use data from across functions to initiate cross-functional action, enhance outcomes, and support your recommendations.
  • Mentor and Coach: Act as a mentor and coach to other members of the Product and R&D teams, helping to level up the organization's skills and expertise. Advocate for and model best practices in product management and quality.

What You'll Bring:

  • Extensive Experience: 8+ years of product management experience with a demonstrated ability to launch entirely new, complex product suites and navigate all stages of the product lifecycle from discovery to launch. You combine a product background with a strong ability to guide both creative and technical partners in defining, explaining and executing your strategy and vision. In order to be successful in this position, you need to be able to create a vision, strategy & roadmap (the "what" and the "why") for your product space based on client insights. You'll partner with a variety of cross-functional partners spanning design, engineering, and marketing teams to imagine how Onfleet can engage clients in new and innovative ways. You understand deeply the business needs and constraints of the B2B SaaS world.
  • Strategic & Business Acumen: A proven track record of developing and executing a long-term (1+ year) strategic product vision. You have the business awareness to make impactful build, buy, or partner decisions for review and approval. Ability to partner with different functions to ensure that your solutions drive real business impact. Strategic thinking and ability to incorporate larger business context into product development. • Strong Technical Acumen: The ability to accelerate and guide technical decisions with both internal and external stakeholders. You gain an understanding of our product suite broadly and can jump in to provide guidance anywhere. Strong technical knowledge, ability to work deeply with engineering and ability to translate technical complexities into simplified concepts
  • Leadership & Influence: You have considerable influence beyond your direct area of ownership and can effectively lead large projects across multiple teams. You are recognized as an expert in your field.
  • Data Proficiency: You regularly use insights to initiate cross-functional action that enhances outcomes and can review performance metrics across functions to inform decision-making.
  • Exceptional Communication: The ability to clearly articulate a vision, speak up about important issues, and present technical content to non-technical audiences to enable successful collaboration.
  • A Growth Mindset: You are proactive, regularly step outside of your comfort zone, and are seen as a highly valued contributor critical to the company's ongoing growth. You're constantly looking for what will make the Onfleet platform better.

Nice To Have:
