About the Role

Unusual Ventures is hiring an AI Builder in Residence to join our investment team for a two-year, hands-on program.

This is an experimental role for a true builder — someone who loves to tinker, ship, and learn in public. You'll explore emerging AI technologies, prototype new ideas, and help us make sharper, faster investment decisions across the AI stack and beyond.

By the end of this residency, we'd be thrilled if you join or start a company yourself.

What You'll Do

  • Meet early-stage founders, attend AI meetups and demos, and expand our builder network surfacing exceptional founders before they're known.
  • Join investment pitches and contribute product, technical, and design insights to support diligence.
  • Explore and stress-test new tools, products, and workflows — documenting findings with crisp write-ups and demos.
  • Build small prototypes to evaluate emerging technologies and validate market opportunities.
  • Contribute to internal initiatives that enhance Unusual's AI-driven workflows
