What you'll do
- Operate tractor-trailer units, including flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, and tankers, to transport freight safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts or other equipment, ensuring proper handling and securing of all shipments.
- Execute route driving with a focus on punctuality and adherence to delivery schedules.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and delivery records as required by law.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status and any potential delays.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize routes and enhance overall operational efficiency.
Basic qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Experience in truck driving, particularly with tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or dump trucks.
Preferred qualifications
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles.
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving roles.
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and regulations related to transportation.
