Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager to lead strategic process optimization and efficiency initiatives within a manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Lean Manufacturing, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), and Continuous Improvement methodologies, driving measurable results through leadership, collaboration, and innovation.

This role is part of the plant's senior leadership team, responsible for identifying and executing improvement projects, mentoring cross-functional teams, and establishing world-class operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, plan, and execute improvement projects from concept through completion.
  • Develop and standardize visual management systems, standard work instructions, setup sheets, and machine parameter documentation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to identify inefficiencies and implement effective solutions.
  • Conduct business process analysis and perform line studies to identify waste and drive process optimization.
  • Create and maintain process and value stream maps to enhance workflow efficiency.
  • Partner with global and corporate leaders to report performance data, production system roadmaps, and best operating practices.
  • Lead Kaizen events, drive HPS (High Performance System) initiatives, and champion Lean transformation projects.
  • Quantify improvements using KPIs and lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to address production loss issues.
  • Develop and deliver Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement training programs across the facility.
  • Support MES system management, generate analytical reports, and communicate insights to corporate teams.
  • Establish long-term strategies to reduce waste, improve reliability, and enhance sustainability.
  • Serve as a coach and mentor for plant personnel to build a culture of operational excellence.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience implementing Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
  • 3+ years of leadership or managerial experience (formal or informal).
  • Proven expertise in TPM methodologies and implementation.
  • Demonstrated ability to quantify improvement results through KPIs and data analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean tools, including value stream mapping, fishbone diagrams, 5S, SMED, visual management, and flow diagrams.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills with the ability to engage all levels of the organization.
  • Stable work history (3+ years with previous employers).
  • Currently employed and located in or willing to relocate to the Upstate NY region (or nearby).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or related Continuous Improvement programs.
  • Experience within consumer product manufacturing industries.
  • Familiarity with MES systems and data-driven operational reporting.
