Position Summary
The Manager, Commercial Programs will lead and oversee critical sales operations, marketing program execution, and commercial initiatives at VIVUS LLC. This position requires a strategic, hands-on leader who can manage commercial programs across marketing, sales operations, incentive compensation, conference and project management. The ideal candidate will drive efficiency, process improvements, and program execution while ensuring compliance and alignment with business objectives.
This role is responsible for managing multiple projects supporting sales and marketing, support promotional review committee (PRC) activities, conference planning, and sales incentive compensation programs. The Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, legal, regulatory, and finance, to ensure seamless execution of commercial programs.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Operations & Incentive Compensation
- Develop and implement the Incentive Compensation Plan to drive sales growth, including data modeling, rep ticket reviews, analysis, and performance tracking.
- Manage the sales reporting structure, including weekly tracking reports, COE reports, EOY bonus reports, and payout adjustments.
- Oversee sales onboarding training and credentialing processes to ensure new hires have the tools and resources to succeed.
- Provide oversight, coaching, and backup to the Associate Manager, Commercial Operations
Conference & Event Management
- Plan and manage all conference exhibitor logistics, including applications, exhibitor portal management, booth setup, staff registration, travel logistics, lead retrievals, and materials handling.
- Ensures the National Sales Meetings (NSM) and key events, including location vetting, budget oversight, A/V, materials handling, catering, and onsite coordination lead by the Associate Manager are executed.
Marketing & Promotional Review
- Serves as back-up for the Promotional Review Committee (PRC) for US, EU and MENA regions, including submission management, meeting facilitation, material quality control, approvals, and regulatory submissions (e.g., OPDP in the US).
- Ensure the compliance and efficiency of marketing collateral distribution and promotional review processes.
Qualifications & Skills
- Associate's degree in business, marketing, or related field required
- 4-5 years of experience in commercial operations, sales support, or marketing program management, preferably in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
- Demonstrated experience in successfully developing and implementing incentive compensation programs.
- Demonstrated experience in successfully planning and executing conferences and events.
- Understanding of promotional review processes.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data modeling and performance tracking.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence key stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams), Tableau, Concur, and CRM platforms.
- Ability to travel as needed for conferences, sales meetings, and corporate events. Travel expected to be approximately 30% of time.
