Clients ranging from small business owners to the largest institutional real estate investment firms trust us to help them acquire, renovate, improve, and develop a variety of property types throughout the United States.
SUMMARY:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to drive significant growth and lead business development by building relationships and securing new clients for our real estate project and program management consulting services. This role requires a strategic thinker with a hunter mindset, and a proven track record in closing business for professional services.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Client Acquisition: Toward achieving long-term strategic goals and annual objectives, identify target accounts, build rapport with salient contacts, qualify opportunities, and secure profitable engagements with new clients. Directly perform, and work with senior managers, through focused networking, proactive outreach, and relationship-building.
- Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with prospective clients, referral partners, circles of influence, and strategic stakeholders. Assist senior managers in strengthening and expanding relationships with current and past clientele.
- Sales Pipeline Management: Develop, maintain and pursue a predictable pipeline of qualified leads and accounts using Monday CRM and other tools, providing regular updates and reporting sales metrics to leadership. Coordinate with senior managers regarding their client and prospect sales activities. Continue to refine and improve our sales management process, tools, and key metrics.
- Proposal Development: Collaborate with senior managers and subject matter experts to craft compelling proposals, respond to questions and objections, and make effective presentations tailored to address each prospect's needs. Work with marketing and communications resources to continually improve our proposal preparation and response systems.
- Negotiation: With executive leadership, and legal counsel as necessary, negotiate agreements with clients to secure accretive new business engagements.
- Sales Coaching: Work with senior managers and other employees to track and enhance their business development mindsets and skills. Engender systematic processes and relationship-focused approaches to business development and client engagement.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Market Research: Conduct thorough market research to understand industry trends, competitive landscape, and client needs to develop the most effective sales growth strategies that align with the Company's strategic goals and annual objectives.
- Brand Promotion: Attend targeted industry conferences/trade shows and regional and other networking events. Coordinate and directly participate in key organizations like SMPS to increase company visibility and credibility. Personally exemplify and positively promote the Company's reputation, core values, and value proposition.
- Onboarding New Engagements: Work closely with the project services team to ensure a thorough and positive transition from contract signature to project kick off, especially for new clients.
- Communications: Collaborate with internal and external marketing and communications resources to support our brand outreach and the development and improvement of messaging, pitches, templates, and other collateral and promotional elements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, sales, or an applicable field.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in organized business development, consultative sales, or a related role.
- Experience in a growing professional services firm (legal, accounting, engineering, financial, project management, etc.) preferred.
- Proven track record of successfully acquiring new clients and achieving aggressive sales targets.
- Excellent listening, inquiry, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Trustworthy, empathetic, and ability to build strong and enduring relationships.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to approach daily responsibilities with strategic focus and disciplined execution.
- Proficiency in using systems, including Monday CRM software and Microsoft Office 365 Suite, preferred.
HOURS:
- The position will be full time at-will employment. General work hours will be as needed. Weekend and overtime may be necessary.
COMPENSATION:
Base Salary Range - $90,000–$100,000 annually plus incentive commissions.
Commission Structure: Commission will be calculated as a percentage of the value of base services for each new, signed contract. Commissions will be paid out quarterly allocated over the duration of the respective engagements.
Travel and Entertainment Expenses: An expenses budget will be established each fiscal year for business development-related expenses. The Business Development Manager will be reimbursed customary and reasonable business expenses.
