Overview:

AARP Services, Inc., founded in 1999, is a wholly-owned taxable subsidiary of AARP. AARP Services manages the provider relationships for and performs quality control oversight of the wide range of products and services that carry the AARP name and are made available by independent providers as benefits to AARP's millions of members. The provider offers currently span health products, financial products, travel and leisure products, and life event services. Specific products include Medicare supplemental insurance; credit cards, auto and home, mobile home and motorcycle insurance, life insurance and annuities; member discounts on rental cars, cruises, vacation packages and lodging; special offers on technology and gifts; pharmacy services and legal services. AARP Services also engages in new product development activities for AARP and provides certain consulting services to outside companies.

The Vice President, Provider Field Oversight oversees the development, management, and customer interaction practices of providers' third-party distributors, who sell a variety of branded and non-branded health insurance and financial products, services, and solutions to enable the organization to achieve strategic objectives. This role oversees vendor-led activities, including Mystery Shopping and Point of Purchase quality control. The Vice President is responsible for partnering with AARP state offices, programs, and affiliates to coordinate the use of branded provider locations for program delivery. They also oversee the development and implementation of quality control oversight methods in collaboration with the Lines of Business (LOBs), aimed at ensuring a high level of customer experience through the distribution of products and services across multiple touchpoints and channels. Additionally, the Vice President collaborates with senior leadership to develop long-term goals and strategic plans that ensure continued successful growth and profitability.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee, monitor, and track the work of providers to advance AARP's social welfare mission through community engagement programs and events.
  • Meets with providers and LOBs to plan, consult, and provide insights.
  • Reviews and manages expense line items pertaining to Distribution oversight.
  • Leads Provider Field Oversight projects. Manges and supports internal communications and reporting related to provider field oversight. Provides ASI LOBs and providers with key insights from oversight of 3rd party distributors.
  • Supports and implements strategic plans to meet quality control (QC) oversight SOW and dashboard objectives for membership growth. Leads all QC provider field oversight including working with providers on oversight agreements issues and escalations and supports agent credentialing and training.
  • Promotes branded product and the organization's membership growth via improved understanding of the organization's value proposition and ease of doing business.
  • Supports initiatives from data analytics, customer experience, and business enablement that can impact provider field oversight. Analyzes insurance and financial services distribution trends to provide continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in program management, provider or partner oversight, community engagement, or a related field, including experience in insurance and/or financial services.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams, overseeing provider performance, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals, compliance standards, and quality control objectives.
  • Strong experience in strategic planning, project management, and budget management, with a focus on operational efficiency and measurable outcomes.
  • Skilled in data analysis and performance reporting, using insights to inform decisions and improve provider and field operations.
  • Exceptional relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and collaborate effectively across internal teams and external partners.
  • Ability to travel up to 33% of the time.
