San Antonio, Texas, United States Avid Wealth Partners Full time $120,000 - $180,000 per year

We're looking for a strategic tax mind ready to own complex planning work inside a fast-scaling RIA.

This role is the engine room of our advanced planning process — where creativity become strategies.

You'll partner directly with firm leadership to design the systems, tax strategies, and entity frameworks that drive the next phase of Avid's growth.

About the Role

Avid Wealth Partners is seeking a
Senior Tax & Advanced Planner
to strengthen our firm's strategic planning depth for business owners and high-net-worth clients.

You'll build, model, and implement advanced tax, entity, and wealth strategies in collaboration with firm leadership — taking high-level concepts and turning them into detailed, actionable deliverables that drive measurable outcomes.

This position is ideal for an experienced CPA, EA, or advanced planner who wants to step out of the reactive tax cycle and into proactive strategy design.

If you thrive on problem-solving, structure-building, and real-world impact, this is your seat.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement advanced tax and entity strategies
for business-owner and high-net-worth client cases
  • Analyze tax returns, business financials, and entity diagrams
to identify planning opportunities and inefficiencies
  • Develop and maintain firmwide frameworks
for business succession, liquidity, compensation, and estate planning
  • Collaborate with advisors, CPAs, and attorneys
to ensure coordinated and compliant execution
  • Manage delegated advanced planning initiatives
including entity restructuring, business sale readiness, and investment tax planning reviews
  • Maintain and expand Avid's internal advanced planning library
, including strategy templates, client memos, and training guides
  • Monitor evolving tax law, planning techniques, and IRS guidance
to ensure Avid remains at the forefront of advanced strategy
  • Integrate advanced insurance and wealth-transfer strategies
when appropriate for protection, liquidity, and tax leverage
  • Conduct tax transition planning for investments
, including gain realization, entity alignment, and asset location optimization
  • Model stock option, equity, or deferred compensation strategies
     where applicable in business-owner structures

Why This Role Matters

Avid's Advanced Planning department is the technical foundation that powers our growth.

Every sophisticated client strategy — entity design, tax optimization, business transition — starts here.

You'll be building the infrastructure that allows us to deliver higher value to every client, faster and with precision.

What We're Looking For

Qualifications:

 CPA or Enrolled Agent preferred

CFP
or additional advanced planning designation a plus

Minimum
7 years of experience
in tax strategy, business-owner planning, or high-net-worth case design

Advanced understanding of

 for closely held businesses

Strong analytical, modeling, and written communication skills

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple concurrent projects
