Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior ServiceNow Developer to support the end-to-end redevelopment of a custom, homegrown application within the ServiceNow ITSM platform. This is a full-time contract engagement lasting approximately 6 months, offering the opportunity to play a key role in a critical enterprise initiative.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on development expertise in ServiceNow, with demonstrated experience designing custom data models, building complex workflows, and integrating with third-party systems. This role requires a balance of technical proficiency, problem-solving ability, and collaborative mindset to deliver scalable, maintainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement a custom ServiceNow application aligned with ITSM principles and enterprise requirements.
  • Build out custom database schemas and data models to support specialized application functionality.
  • Develop and configure custom forms and workflows, including task logic, approval chains, notifications, and assignment group rules.
  • Import and transform data from a legacy application into ServiceNow, ensuring proper field mapping and successful migration of attachments (PDFs, images, etc.).
  • Create and manage custom roles and access controls to ensure secure, efficient user interaction with the application.
  • Develop and support integrations between ServiceNow and external systems, including GIS or other third-party enterprise platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with technical architects, stakeholders, and business users to ensure functional alignment and clarity of requirements.
  • Provide technical documentation, support knowledge transfer, and contribute to long-term sustainability of the solution.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience as a ServiceNow Developer with a focus on custom application development.
  • Deep familiarity with ITSM modules (Incident, Change, Request, Problem Management).
  • Experience designing custom data schemas and developing applications within the ServiceNow platform.
  • Proven ability to manage complex data migrations, including attachment handling and transformation logic.
  • Proficient in ServiceNow scripting, Flow Designer, Business Rules, UI Policies, and Notifications.
  • Demonstrated experience with role-based access control (RBAC), ACL configuration, and secure app design.
  • Experience integrating ServiceNow with external applications using REST APIs, IntegrationHub, or similar tools.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills in a team-oriented, consultative environment.

Preferred Skills:
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) or Implementation Specialist (CIS - ITSM)
  • Familiarity with Scoped Applications and ServiceNow App Engine
  • Experience working in agile or iterative development teams
