Schedule Overview: Full-time evening shift, with options for 8 or 10-hour shifts, primarily Monday through Friday. Expect on-call duties, with overnight call slots (5-8 calls) and a couple of weekend call slots in an 8-week scheduling period. Availability within 30 minutes for on-call patients is expected.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Create a clean and safe environment for optimal patient care while using aseptic techniques for preparing materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Assist with surgical procedures by anticipating the surgeons' needs, passing instruments, and maintaining a sterile field.
  • Ensure the operating room is ready for each procedure, including moving equipment and setting up for cases.
  • Function as a Second Assistant as needed, demonstrating your capability in various procedures.
  • Notify staff of any equipment or supply issues, and manage patient and equipment transport efficiently.
  • Maintain specialty carts and ensure the readiness of necessary items for surgeries.
  • Transport and position patients using proper lifting techniques while ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of patient care that respects the needs of individuals across all age groups.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited program in Surgical Technology.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six months of hire is required, unless waived by the department leader.
  • No prior experience required; we welcome new graduates as well as those with experience.
  • Ability to adapt to high-pressure situations with excellent attention to detail and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to endure a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
  • Able to lift, carry, push, and pull various weights safely during the work shift.
  • Exposure to various hazards (mechanical, electrical, chemical, etc.) and the requirement to wear personal protective equipment.

This position offers a $10,000 SIGN-ON BONUS, plus an additional $2,000 for evening shift roles.
