Description
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations for pediatric, adult, and senior patients using a mix of standardized assessments and observational insights.
  • Design bespoke treatment plans that target immediate objectives as well as long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy focused on communication skills, language development, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing techniques.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to craft unified care strategies.
  • Provide education for patients and families, equipping them with the tools necessary to support progress beyond clinical settings.
  • Support occasional inpatient therapy sessions with evaluations and interventions, ensuring thorough continuity of care throughout the patient's journey.
  • Keep precise and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational policies.
  • Engage with ongoing professional development and peer exchanges to remain abreast of advancements in the field.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
  • Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification necessary within 30 days of employment.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods for all age groups, along with a profound understanding of both developmental and acquired communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, facilitating effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to modify therapy techniques to cater to diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation protocols.
