Access Center Coordinator

Our ASC is hiring a Access Center Coordinator Exciting opportunity to join our growing organization, work outside the center, connecting with providers, representing our ASC in an external facing role. This role is 25% office based and 75% out in the community.
Office Hours: 7am-4pm
Position will require weekly auto travel; mileage reimbursement provided.

The Access Center Coordinator plays a dual role in supporting patient access and promoting referral growth for Panoramic Health's Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC). This position is responsible for coordinating patient scheduling, managing communications, maintaining patient records, and handling insurance-related tasks. Additionally, the role involves outreach and relationship-building with healthcare providers to drive patient volume and increase awareness of ASC services.
Responsibilities include:
- Answer and route incoming calls promptly and professionally.
- Maintain patient charts, physician correspondence, and office inventory.
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary referrals and pre-authorizations.
- Coordinate dialysis treatments and transportation for patients as needed.
- Ensure timely communication of results to referring physicians and facilities.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform general administrative tasks including filing, faxing, and data entry.
- Build and maintain relationships with physician offices, hospitals, and dialysis clinics to expand the referral network.
- Develop and implement marketing campaigns and educational presentations to promote ASC services.
- Act as a liaison between healthcare providers and ASC staff to address referral-related inquiries.
- Track referral trends, outcomes, and follow-up actions for each dialysis unit.
- Collaborate with ASC and dialysis unit teams to coordinate and process patient referrals.
- Ensure all referral activities comply with company policies and healthcare regulations. Participate in community education and outreach events.
- Position will require weekly auto travel; mileage reimbursement provided.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in medical billing, patient access, marketing, or customer service.
- Experience with insurance verification, Medicare/Medicaid, and commercial payors.
- Familiarity with obtaining pre-authorizations and managing referrals.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills and Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and healthcare databases/software.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and billing practices.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and high attention to detail and follow through.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Demonstrated professionalism and courtesy in all interactions and maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
