Your Responsibilities
- Conducting detailed patient assessments, securing diagnostic tests, and developing customized care plans
- Diagnosing and addressing acute, episodic, or chronic conditions in partnership with physicians or independently, depending on your credentials
- Informing patients and their families about disease prevention, wellness strategies, and ongoing care
- Prescribing necessary medications and therapies within your scope of practice
- Engaging in patient follow-ups and managing chronic health issues
- Working collaboratively across interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive and cohesive patient care
- Accurately documenting patient information within electronic medical records (EMR)
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
- Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Valid Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of Iowa
- National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP, or ANCC) or comparable credential
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or the ability to obtain these within 90 days)
- Strong clinical skills complemented by a comforting bedside presence
- Excellent communication abilities with patients, families, and clinical teams
