Your Role and Responsibilities
- Perform thorough patient evaluations, order relevant diagnostic tests, and develop personalized care strategies
- Diagnose and manage acute, chronic, or episodic health issues in partnership with physicians or independently, depending upon your credentials
- Educate patients and their families on preventative care, healthy living, and ongoing disease management
- Prescribe necessary medications and treatments within the established scope of practice
- Engage in patient follow-up and management of chronic conditions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care
- Maintain accurate and thorough electronic medical records (EMR)
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
- Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Iowa
- National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or equivalent specialty
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or ability to secure within 90 days)
- Strong clinical judgment coupled with an empathetic approach to patient care
- Exceptional communication abilities for engaging with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals
- Flexibility in dynamic, patient-oriented settings
- Familiarity with EMR platforms and comfort utilizing telehealth technology
- A collaborative nature and commitment to evidence-based healthcare practices
