As a Lead Backend Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in creating high-performance backend systems that deliver real-time experiences to millions of users. From your first day, you'll be crafting and deploying production-ready code, rapidly implementing new features, and taking ownership of services in a dynamic, always-active environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable backend systems and APIs that power impactful applications enjoyed by a large user base around the clock.

  • Deliver robust, production-ready code to introduce new features and capabilities in a 24/7 sports betting landscape.

  • Balance agility and scalability to support rapid product rollouts while ensuring systems are flexible and resilient under high loads.

  • Oversee the full software development lifecycle, from initial design to long-term maintenance, performance enhancement, and reliability upgrades.

  • Promptly investigate and resolve production issues, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

  • Ensure that all components are engineered to handle high volumes and real-time demands, optimizing for speed and efficiency.

  • Work collaboratively across teams to align technical execution with product objectives, mentoring colleagues and promoting quality standards within the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a relevant mix of education, experience, and training.

  • A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in object-oriented backend development using languages such as C# or Java, alongside in-depth knowledge of OOP principles, design patterns, and backend system architecture.

  • Proven track record in designing and building scalable distributed systems in cloud environments like AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

  • Expertise in developing and maintaining automated test suites, including unit, integration, and performance tests for large-scale backend services.

  • Proven ability to mentor and elevate other engineers through code reviews, design reviews, and collaborative debugging.
