Plant Administration

Job Summary

This position coordinates the administrative, purchasing, and operational support activities for the Department of Facilities & Plant Operations. This position is designated by the institution as Essential Personnel.

Responsibilities

1 -
Maintains the work order management system and dispatches service calls to appropriate personnel.

2 -
Serves as P-Card holder for Plant Operations, ensuring compliance with College, USG and State purchasing regulations. Maintains appropriate records and reconciles transactions monthly.

3 -
Purchases equipment, materials, and supplies; prepares purchase requisition and vendor contracts; and assists in the bid process for Plant Operations departments.

4 -
Prepares and monitors purchase requisitions, bid documents, and vendor records for plant operations.

5 -
Enters bid information to the Georgia procurement Registry.

6 -
Reviews and verifies departmental electronic timecards.

7 -
Manages the college¿s vehicle fleet, including scheduling routine maintenance and repairs, maintaining accurate service records, and ensuring vehicles are safe and operational.

8 -
Supports fleet usage, coordinating reservations, tracking departmental charges, and maintaining the fleet management system to support efficient and compliant operations.

9 -
Performs related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor¿s degree OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Other Required Qualifications
-Must possess a current valid driver license with an acceptable driving record and successfully pass an annual Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) review.
-Must successfully pass a credit check.

Required Experience
-More than three years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
-Experience with State of Georgia, USG or other governmental purchasing processes.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

KNOWLEDGE
-Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
-Knowledge of state and agency purchasing policies and procedures.
-Knowledge of distribution, warehousing and materials handling principles.
-Knowledge of accounting and budget management principles.
-Knowledge of inventory management principles.
-Knowledge of University System of Georgia policies and procedures.
-Knowledge of college policies and procedures.

SKILLS
-Skill in organizing, prioritizing, and delegating work responsibilities.
-Skill in decision making and problem solving.
-Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.
-Skill in oral and written communication.
