What You Can Expect:

As a Remote Tax Specialist, you will empower clients to make informed decisions about their finances and improve their overall confidence regarding their tax situations. Building lasting relationships with clients is key to your success, and you will receive comprehensive training and support from our dedicated team to equip you for diverse tax obligations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA or Enrolled Agent certification
  • Experience in completing complex tax returns
  • 5+ years in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or tax
  • Experience in conducting virtual tax interviews that instill client confidence
  • Tax planning and audit support experience
  • Sales and/or marketing experience

Your Contributions:

  • Conduct comprehensive tax interviews with clients and assist DIY online tax clients using virtual tools (video conferencing, phone, chat, email)
  • Drive business growth, enhance client retention, and promote additional products and services
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and leadership to discuss your remote work impact on overall performance
  • Enhance your tax knowledge on an ongoing basis

Your Expertise Includes:

  • Proficiency in completing individual tax returns
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Access to reliable high-speed internet
  • Familiarity with technology (MS Teams and Outlook)
  • A talent for communicating complex tax matters clearly through phone, email, and chat
  • Strong customer service abilities
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or equivalent
  • High school diploma or equivalent (higher education preferred)
  • Commitment to ongoing education and compliance with IRS and state guidelines
  • Availability for a minimum of 20 hours a week during peak tax season
  • Skilled in researching tax information using IRS publications and resources
