We are seeking a Process Safety Management Manager to oversee and enhance compliance and safety initiatives across our 17 food manufacturing plants. You will play a crucial role in ensuring safety and compliance with respect to Process Safety Management (PSM), Risk Management Plan (RMP), and general safe operations. This position requires a driven individual to lead compliance activities related to ammonia refrigeration systems, operational training, and overall system reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA's Process Safety Management Standard, EPA's Chemical Accident Prevention Regulation, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Provide dotted-line support across multiple facilities and PSM staff members as needed.
  • Mentor and develop junior PSM staff members to enhance their skills and capabilities.
  • Participate in essential compliance activities for the 14 Elements of PSM and RMP, including Process Safety Information, Hazard Analysis, Operating Procedures, Training, Mechanical Integrity, and Incident Investigation.
  • Conduct and coordinate internal Mechanical Integrity inspections, generating reports to collaborate on remediation plans to ensure ongoing safe operations.
  • Develop and manage inspection, testing, and maintenance plans for equipment reliability in ammonia refrigeration systems.
  • Provide on-demand facility support for refrigeration operability issues and safety improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes and regulations for related systems, including utilities and safety systems.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in a PSM setting, preferably in manufacturing with ammonia refrigeration systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or related field.
  • Willingness to travel 30-50% to various food manufacturing plants.
  • Expert understanding of EPA and OSHA compliance requirements and processes.
  • Familiarity with Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP) for ammonia systems.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing safety programs in manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency in hazard evaluation techniques such as HazID, What-If, HazOp, and LOPA.
  • Ability to track key performance indicators using software and reporting tools.
  • High proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe.

Compensation and Benefits:

The base salary range for this position is $90,750 to $151,250 annually, with eligibility for a 15% annual incentive bonus based on organizational performance. Our compensation structure considers various factors, including education, skills, experience, and geography.
