Surgical Technologist I

Position Overview: Join our exceptional Operating Room team at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center, where you'll play a critical role in providing innovative patient care and support during surgical procedures. Our facility is the largest in Wisconsin, known for our 24/7 on-site heart care team and comprehensive medical specialties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient surgical area following aseptic techniques.
• Prepare surgical materials, supplies, and equipment, ensuring an optimal sterile field.
• Assist with a variety of surgical procedures while demonstrating knowledge of different techniques.
• Set up and clean the operating room, manage equipment, and ensure a smooth workflow.
• Act as a Second Assistant as needed and communicate effectively with the surgical team.
• Transport patients and equipment, maintaining a focus on safety and care quality.
• Demonstrate knowledge of patient care appropriate for all age groups.

Job Requirements:

• Licensure: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Education: Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Experience: No previous experience required.

Skills Needed:

• Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and surgical procedures.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer proficiency.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Exposure to hazards such as mechanical, electrical, and chemical materials.
• Willingness to wear personal protective equipment such as masks and gloves.
