As a Surgical Technologist I specializing in General Surgery, you'll play a vital role in our commitment to providing exceptional patient care. With Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center being the largest hospital in Wisconsin and offering a 24/7 on-site heart-care team, you will be a key player in our innovative healthcare environment.

Schedule: Full-time, evening shifts with variable hours (8 or 10 hours), and on-call requirements about 5-8 slots overnight and 1-2 weekend calls in an 8-week rotation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain sterile environments for surgical procedures, ensuring a clean and efficient area for optimal patient care.
- Assist with surgical techniques including gowning, gloving, and setting up sterile fields.
- Be proactive in anticipating surgeons' needs and support them by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment throughout the procedure.
- Ensure safety and cleanliness of the operating room, arranging equipment and supplies as needed.
- Transport patients and equipment while utilizing safe lifting and moving techniques.
- Demonstrate understanding of age-specific care necessary for the patients served.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 6 months of hire.
- No prior experience required; your passion for patient care and a willingness to learn are what matter most
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver equipment and patients in a fast-paced environment.
- Exposure to various hazards including chemicals and bodily fluids, requiring appropriate personal protective equipment.
