Position Description:
Wayzata Public Schools is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team in a new role. The Inclusion Specialist is responsible for supporting students and staff in the before and after school program as well as the full-day preschool program. The Inclusion Specialist plays a vital role in supporting a consistent and safe environment for students.

Responsibilities of the Position:
  • Manages the special education needs of students enrolled in Wayzata Kids programs before, during, and after the school day including understanding of the Americans with Disabilities Act, 504 plans and special education.
  • Works with staff, assists in training and supporting staff, provides collaboration and suggestions and consults with them to ensure accommodations, supports and behavior plans are implemented appropriately.
  • Collaborates with parents to ensure all due process timelines and paperwork are completed
  • Create and update individual assessments or accommodation plans for students with identified inclusion needs using data gathered from a variety of resources, including parents, teachers, I.E.P.s or 504 plans, or outside provider information

  • Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction
