Overview:
The Director of G&A Finance is a strategic and highly visible finance leader responsible for managing the financial performance and planning for the Chief Financial Officer's (CFO) organization. This includes working closely with the leaders across Finance, Accounting, Strategic Sourcing, Tax, Treasury, Information Technology, Business Development, Investor Relations, and Corporate Communications. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted business partner, providing financial oversight and strategic insights that support the company's growth and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Financial Partnership: Act as the primary financial business partner for the CFO and the leaders of the supported functions within his organization. Provide strategic decision support and financial modeling to help functional leaders manage their budgets effectively.
- Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A): Lead all aspects of the annual budget, long-range planning, and recurring forecasting processes for the CFO's organization.
- Develop detailed financial models and analysis to support the investment planning of strategic initiatives and major projects.
- Provide timely and accurate budget-to-actual variance analysis and actionable insights to drive informed decision-making.
- Financial Reporting and Controls: support the month-end and quarter-end close processes by partnering with the Accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting, including expense tracking and accruals.
- Drive improvements in finance systems and processes to increase efficiency and enhance reporting capabilities.
Operational Excellence:
- Partner with the IT organization to provide financial oversight for technology investments, including system implementations and infrastructure costs.
- Collaborate with Investor Relations and Corporate Communications to align resources with communications priorities
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies related to vendor management, purchase orders, and travel and entertainment expenses for G&A functions.
Leadership and Team Management:
- While this role does not have director reports, leadership and cross functional collaboration is highly important, as are influencing skills.
- Develop and implement standardized finance processes to promote efficiency and strong financial discipline across the organization.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. An MBA and/or a professional certification such as a CPA or CFA is a plus.
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
Skills:
- Exceptional financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work effectively across departments and influence decisions with senior leadership.
- Deep understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
- Expert-level proficiency in Excel and financial planning software (e.g., Adaptive, Hyperion).
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and coaching high-performing teams.
- Mindset: A proactive, continuous improvement mindset with the agility to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving business environment.
U.S. Pay Range
$184,700.00 - $249,900.00
The pay range reflects the full-time base salary range we expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Base pay will be determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education. This role is eligible for an annual short-term incentive award (e.g., bonus or sales incentive) and an annual long-term incentive award (e.g., equity).
