Position Summary
Elev8 Baltimore is seeking a full-time Intake Specialist to serve as the first point of contact for new and returning students seeking to earn their high school diploma at SBAHS. The Intake Specialist schedules and proctors student assessments, ensures accurate documentation in the online case management system, and refers students to the counselor for placement once assessments are complete. This position also supports recruitment, connects students with wraparound services, and creates individual learning plans for students who do not yet qualify for credit-bearing courses.
Responsibilities
Monitor and respond to inquiries from the program’s general email account.
Support drop-in hours and provide orientation for new students.
Schedule and conduct intake sessions (virtual and in-person).
Schedule and proctor Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment System (CASAS) and MSDE-required state tests.
Serve as lead proctor for state assessments
Review test results with students, record outcomes, and communicate next steps.
Maintain accurate student records and update case management systems.
Share assessment results with the Academic Advisor and Program Manager.
Ensure appropriate testing conditions in partnership with the Manager
Complete and maintain all required paperwork and documentation.
Refer students to wraparound services as needed.
Schedule and conduct post-assessments for current students
Agency/Team Cohesion
Attend all required departmental and agency-wide meetings.
Complete required trainings on time.
Maintain compliance with agency policies and procedures.
Participate in events and initiatives supporting organizational goals.
Engage in regular supervision meetings.
Uphold the organization’s values of equity, racial justice, and liberation
Qualifications
Required
High School Diploma or GED
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data collection platforms
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent communication and customer service skill
Preferred
Experience in adult education or working with nontraditional learners
Familiarity with CASAS testing platforms and/or MSDE reporting requirements
Knowledge of Baltimore City communities and resources
Work Schedule and Environment
Full-time, with occasional evening or weekend hours based on student needs
Requires extended periods of computer work and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds
Compensation and Benefits
$21.00 per hour
