Sign-On Bonus:

Join our exceptional OR team at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center, Wisconsin's largest hospital with a 24/7 on-site heart-care team. We provide innovative healthcare and support to patients from across the globe. Your role as a Surgical Technologist is invaluable and directly impacts patient care in our operating room.

Schedule/Hours:

Full-time evening shifts with a mix of 8 or 10-hour shifts, Mon-Fri calls including overnight and occasional weekend shifts. On-call duties require arrival within 30 minutes.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Prepare a sterile environment for surgical procedures using aseptic techniques.
  • Assist with various surgical procedures and maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of different techniques.
  • Ensure the safety and efficiency of the operating room by managing equipment and supplies.
  • Act as a second assistant during surgeries when required.
  • Communicate effectively with team members regarding any equipment or supply issues.
  • Transport patients and manage patient positioning with proper technique.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of age-specific needs of patients and provide appropriate care.

Licensure and Certification:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 6 months of hire.

Education:

  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.

Experience:

  • No prior experience required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Familiarity with aseptic surgical techniques and operating room procedures.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry required weights, push/pull equipment, and perform necessary physical tasks.
  • Must use personal protective equipment (masks, gloves, goggles, and gowns).
