Location: New York, NY 10166 (Hybrid - Partially Remote)
Duration: 12/15/2025 - 3/31/2026 (Possible Extension)
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9 AM-5 PM
Summary
The Accounting Manager will lead a team of accountants responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting across assigned portfolios. This role requires strong accounting expertise, hands-on billing and revenue management experience, and the ability to collaborate effectively across business teams.
Day-to-Day Tasks / Essential Functions
- Collaborate with Accounting, Contracting, and Business teams to prepare accurate customer invoices, including labor and reimbursable expenses, and establish billing schedules.
- Independently generate and process customer invoices in PeopleSoft ERP with minimal errors and ensure compliance with contract terms.
- Prepare supporting documentation, reconcile expenses, and validate system-generated invoices against external reports.
- Ensure all invoicing activities comply with customer requirements and government standards, including submissions through WAWF, Ariba, COUPA, and other designated platforms.
- Monitor Accounts Receivable Aging Reports and follow up with customers to minimize outstanding balances and maintain cash flow; record customer payments in Aging AR.
- Prepare monthly reconciliations for Accounts Receivable, Unbilled Revenue, and Deferred Revenue to support accurate financial reporting.
- Apply strong accounting knowledge to record transactions for revenue recognition, particularly accrued vs. invoiced receivable amounts.
- Respond to audit requests and support ad-hoc financial reporting needs.
- Consistently meet deadlines and communicate effectively with internal teams, customers, and project managers.
- Assist with the development, review, and maintenance of accounting policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Software Skills
- BA/BS in Accounting or Finance from a U.S.-accredited institution.
- 5-7 years of experience in property management accounting (residential and/or commercial).
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, SUMIF, etc.) and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or PeopleSoft.
- Experience with Yardi or similar property management software (MRI a plus).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
