As a trusted advisor, you will help telecommunications and media organizations leverage AWS's solutions to transform their operations, enhance delivery, and drive innovation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and architecting cloud solutions tailored for telecom and media workloads, such as low-latency video streaming, 5G integration, content distribution networks, and media supply chain automation.
- Providing strategic guidance on migrating existing telecom and media infrastructure to the cloud, with a focus on modernizing legacy systems and optimizing operational efficiency.
- Building deep relationships with senior technical leaders in telecom and media companies, enabling them to become cloud advocates within their organizations.
- Educating customers on the value proposition of AWS through industry-specific training sessions, architectural deep dives, and cloud acceleration programs.
- Driving growth by formulating and executing sales strategies in partnership with the AWS Sales team, with a focus on telecom and media-specific use cases and solutions.
- Mobilizing internal AWS resources and partner ecosystems to ensure successful implementation of complex telecom and media solutions on AWS.
- Capturing and sharing industry-specific best practices across AWS, including authoring whitepapers, blog posts, and reference architectures relevant to telecom and media customers.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Deep expertise in cloud computing with a proven track record in technology consulting or solutions architecture within the telecommunications and media sectors.
- Broad competence across infrastructure, security, DevOps, databases, and analytics, with specialized knowledge in areas such as video processing, content delivery networks, and telecom network functions virtualization (NFV).
- Strong understanding of industry-specific technologies and standards, including 5G, IPTV, OTT streaming, and broadcast workflows.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value propositions for telecom and media executives.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with all customer stakeholders, from network engineers to C-suite executives.
- Experience with relevant AWS services such as Amazon Elemental Media Services, AWS Wavelength, Amazon Connect, and AWS Direct Connect.

Key job responsibilities
Strategic Advisory & Customer Engagement:
- Build and maintain strategic relationships as a trusted advisor to C-level executives and technical leaders within telecommunications and media organizations
- Drive enterprise-wide cloud adoption strategies, focusing on business value creation and digital transformation
- Represent AWS as a thought leader in telecommunications and media industry forums, conferences, and communities
Technical Architecture & Solution Design:
- Design and architect large-scale, distributed systems specifically for telecom and media workloads
- Lead complex technical discussions around cloud migration strategies, resilient architectures, and cost optimization
- Develop reference architectures and solutions for industry-specific use cases (5G, content delivery, media processing)
- Ensure solutions meet critical requirements for security, compliance, and performance
Business Development & Partner Collaboration:
- Partner with AWS sales teams to develop and execute technical strategies that drive revenue growth
- Enable and assist AWS partners in designing and implementing large-scale network transformation programs
- Collaborate across AWS teams to create repeatable solutions for common industry challenges
- Influence AWS service roadmap by advocating for telecommunications and media customer needs
Knowledge Leadership & Innovation:
- Author technical content including whitepapers, blogs, and best practice guides
- Develop and deliver technical training programs tailored for telecommunications and media customers
- Create frameworks and methodologies for cloud migration and optimization
- Share industry insights and technical expertise across the AWS organization
Project Delivery & Implementation:
- Guide customers through complex cloud migration programs
- Provide architectural oversight for critical workload deployments
- Establish technical governance frameworks and best practices
- Drive adoption of AWS services through hands-on enablement and proof-of-concept initiatives
A day in the life
In this role, your typical day will involve partnering with customers, AWS Sales teams, and internal AWS groups to craft highly scalable, flexible and resilient cloud architectures that solve customer business challenges and accelerate their adoption of AWS services. You will link your technical expertise to tangible solutions, defining and creating cloud-native reference architectures.
A core part of your role is acting as a trusted customer advocate, helping organizations understand best practices for cloud-based solutions. You will shape strategies to build mindshare and broaden the use of AWS across customer organizations, utilizing your ability to think strategically about business, products and technical complexities.
Your creativity will be channeled into developing new architectural patterns, best practices and technical content to share across AWS in the form of whitepapers, code samples, blog posts and more. You will evangelize AWS technology through workshops, user groups, public speaking engagements, online videos and conferences.
Your day will strike a balance between customer meetings, working on solutions, continuous learning and knowledge sharing. The AWS Solutions Architecture team provides an open environment with self-paced learning, instructor-led training, hands-on projects, job shadowing and mentoring opportunities to expand your AWS services expertise. You'll bring an insatiable curiosity to understand how technology works and achieve outcomes that delight customers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent, or experience in IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries
- Experience architecting or deploying Cloud/Virtualization solutions in enterprise customers
- Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or Information Technology
- Propose solutions and strategies to tackle business challenges (internal/external) and mitigate business risks.
- Previous experience architecting, building or operating solutions build on AWS
- AWS certifications
- Managed Large Customer engagements
- Ability to build demos, hands-on in the cloud
- Experience writing and publishing technical whitepapers or patents

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239,000/year in our highest geographic market.
