Eligibility Authorization Specialist (Port Charlotte) Until Filled (EST) Port Charlotte, FL, USA Hourly Full Time Eligibility Authorization Specialist Full Time (Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM) 1777 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte, FL Millennium Physician Group is seeking to hire a full-time / Eligibility Authorization Specialist to join our Imaging Team. We are looking for a new team member who is positive, energetic and loves patient interaction. We want someone who supports our top initiative of ensuring an excellent patient experience The ideal candidate will have experience in customer service, ability to multi-task, and strong computer skills. The Eligibility Authorization Specialist obtains benefit verification and pre-authorization for outpatient imaging services as specified based on insurance carrier requirements for PET, MRI, CT and Nuclear Imaging (High-Tech Imaging Services). S/he reviews daily worklists and schedules and verifies all information needed to obtain authorization is in system. S/he coordinates with external vendors to expedite obtaining Eligibility, Benefit and Authorizations, as well as directly processing authorizations as needed. S/he communicates authorization results with insurance carrier, physician office, billing office and patient to ensure payment is made timely for the service provided. Required Knowledge and Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Skills and Abilities To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong computer skills and knowledge of EMR systems; Athena knowledge preferred but not required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
