Composite Shop Floor Manager

We’re looking for a Composite Shop Floor Manager to run day-to-day operations on the fabrication floor. This person keeps the shop organized, the team aligned, and the work moving — deciding the right way to build things and ensuring the team executes consistently and efficiently.You’ll own the micro-level tasking and daily triage: assigning work, sorting priorities, coordinating people, and keeping every station productive. You’ll work closely with leadership in a tight two-way communication loop.This role is hands-on, people-driven, and technical. You should be someone who can lead by example, set the tone on the floor, and jump in on key fabrication work when needed.Compensation:$70,000 - $90,000 yearlyResponsibilities:Daily Floor LeadershipRun and maintain the daily shop plan: who is doing what, on which project, and in what orderContinuously triage tasks and rebalance priorities based on real-time progressEnsure clear communication across the team, adjusting on the fly as projects evolveMaintain a productive, organized, and safe shop environmentPeople & Workflow ManagementLead, coach, and support fabricators with day-to-day guidanceEnsure each person knows exactly what they should be doing and whyIdentify skill gaps and provide training or pairing to build the team upBuild and maintain a positive, accountable floor cultureFabrication Decision-MakingTranslate engineering intent into practical build processesDecide layup strategy, bond/trim approach, sequencing, tooling needs, and workflowWrite clear, simple work instructions where neededStep in directly on critical layups, trimming, bonding, or problem-solving workQuality, Follow-Through & CommunicationEnsure parts meet spec and deadlines through active oversight and follow-upFlag issues early and work with leadership/engineering to close gapsCommunicate floor needs clearly upward — material shortages, tooling concerns, unclear drawings, etc.Help refine shop processes, tooling setups, and repeatability over timeQualifications:Hands-on composite fabrication experience (fiberglass, carbon, epoxy systems)Experience leading or coordinating teams on the shop floorStrong ability to break down complex builds into clean, efficient sequencesConfident in deciding fabrication methods independentlyClear communicator who thrives in fast-paced, multi-project environmentsComfortable balancing leadership with hands-on fabricationStrong technical drawing interpretation and spatial reasoningAbout CompanyTFX is a composite design and manufacturing company serving major aerospace and themed-entertainment clients, including Disney, Universal, and Anduril.
