David Aplin Group has partnered with our client, a leader in the field to lead their next search for an experienced Project Engineer on a full-time contract basis with a great potential to become permanent, located in Sparwood, BC. They are open to offering camp accommodation and the schedule is Monday to Friday one week and another week Monday to Thursday the following week. Responsibilities:Prepares and reviews RFPs for external vendors and companies to provide services and products on this project, such as to design engineering, electrical, mechanical, and installation companiesManages change orders, seeking approval and maintaining change logsCoordination of site groups, such as plant processing, instrumentation, maintenance, engineering, and constructionWorks closely between construction management and external vendors and on-site teams to assure smooth project activityDefines and communicates key deliverables, testing plan, and acceptance criteriaAssesses site team capacity / needs to implement project and ramp up teamsOversees commissioning and testing of new equipment, supported by external vendorsDevelop and execute projects with various stakeholders including project engineers and managers, plant processing operations and maintenance, vendors, procurement, EPCM, and external construction management companiesResponsible for project functions including but not limited to Project Management, Site Management, Project Control Management, Engineering Management, Procurement, Construction Management, etc. are all coordinated and properly staffed to meet the goalsEstablish a working relationship with operations management needed to facilitate the coordination and execution of project work, such that the operational impact is minimizedMonitor engineering progress against budget and forecasted scheduleContribute to Management of Change (MOC) plans, and actively manage the risks of the projects and the mine sitePrepare project estimates, budget, schedules, and execution plans on an RFP basis with external vendors and consultants to achieve the project(s) goalsPreparing the engineering budget, and project schedulesPrepare and submit reports on the progress and status of the projectMaintain effective and ongoing communications with construction and contractor management teamsAssist with project QA/QC and commissioning systems, transition packages, and handover documentationPerform other project engineering and project management-related dutiesQualifications:B.S. degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and more than 5 years of project engineering, management experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience are necessaryStrong track record of successfully completed projects in an industrial setting/industry – mining preferredJob ID: 9S414075627 If you are interested in this position and meet the qualifications, apply today We thank all applicants; however, only those who are authorized to work in Canada or are selected for an interview will be contacted.
