Accounting Manager and HR Representative

About Us: We’re seeking a versatile, detail-oriented professional to join our team in Stafford, TX. This dual-discipline role blends hands-on accounting leadership with strategic human resources responsibilities. If you enjoy balancing financial oversight with people-focused initiatives, this could be the perfect opportunity.Position Overview: As our Accounting Manager & HR Representative, you’ll manage full-cycle accounting, month-end reporting, cash flow, and payroll while also supporting HR functions like benefits administration, compliance, and employee lifecycle management. This role is key to ensuring both financial accuracy and a strong, compliant workplace culture.Key Responsibilities:Accounting / Finance (≈60%)Manage full-cycle accounting: A/R, A/P, GL, and bank reconciliationsPrepare monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)Execute month-end close, journal entries, and accrualsOversee cash flow forecasting and working capital managementMaintain chart of accounts and accounting controlsPrepare supporting schedules for CPA and year-end tax filingsHandle customer invoicing, collections, vendor bills, credit cards, and expense reportsSupport budgeting and variance analysisHuman Resources (≈40%, training provided)Run payroll and manage timekeeping administrationMaintain HRIS and employee recordsAdminister benefits (health, dental, PTO, 401k)Update HR policies, handbook, and SOPsEnsure compliance with federal and state labor laws (EEO, FLSA, FMLA, OSHA, etc.)Manage workers’ compensation claims and safety reportingRequired Skills & Qualifications:3+ years accounting experience (A/P, A/R, GL, financial statements)Advanced QuickBooks proficiencyStrong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, etc.)Solid understanding of GAAP and HR compliance fundamentalsHighly organized, process-driven, with excellent follow-throughPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting2+ years HR experience (payroll, benefits, compliance)Experience in staffing, professional services, construction, or tradesWhy Join Us:Hands-on role with leadership exposureOpportunity to develop in both accounting and HR disciplinesCollaborative, supportive work environmentApply Today: If you’re ready to take ownership of accounting and HR functions in a dynamic, growing organization, submit your resume and cover letter to jthigpen@carltonstaffing.com.
