Commissioning Manager, Operational Assurance

Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. Using reliable, proven technology in an innovative plant design configuration, Venture Global’s modular, mid-scale plant design will replace traditional designs as it allows for the same efficiency and operational reliability at significantly lower capital cost.We are seeking a Commissioning and Start-up Manager to join us for Power Island. The Venture Global Commissioning team is responsible to ensure the safe and efficient pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up and operation of the facility to achieve the plant’s production and performance objectives.This position will be located at our Plaquemines LNG Power Island located in Point Celeste, LAKey Responsibilities: Oversight for the development, and review and approval of systems completion program for the respective facilities, including systemization, inspection and test plans, punch listing, status and records.Oversight of Contractor commissioning activities in the Power Island System.Lead Pre-Start-Up / Readiness Reviews for major equipment commissioning activities and support Pre-Start-Up Safety Reviews (PSSR) for the rotating equipment discipline.Represent commissioning in project punch listing activities.Oversees Contractor development, subsequent review and approval of the pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up procedures.Verification that Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) are included in the associated commissioning procedures.Primary interfaces include OFE field service advisors, Contractor completions group, Venture Global construction, engineering and operations departments.Implements procedures to deliver the overall safety of the Plant and its personnel.Implementation of SIMOPs.Assurance and audit.Support site Change Management for area of responsibilityLead and require strict adherence to Lock Out / Tag Out Procedures (LOTO), work permits, and company policiesTrack progress of assigned systems and provide completions with timely reports on progress and activitiesWitness commissioning and testing of individual components, systems, as a complete integrated unit to meet all contractual obligations.Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis. Qualifications: A Minimum of 20 years of progressive experience in field operations, with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles managing personnel and overseeing large-scale start-ups of industrial processing facilities.Minimum 5 years of experience as Electrical Lead on mid to large scale projectGE frame 7 experienceDemonstrated commissioning and start-up experience on major Power projects with focus on steam and water systems.Experience with power stations and combined cycle.Experience with power system management (EMS)Experience with diesel generation.Ability to work in an island situation (off the national grid)Experience with structured management of change system.Experience with computerized completions management systems.Experience in working with simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) in a major capital project.Demonstrated Health, Safety and Environmental Awareness.Demonstrated written and oral communication skills across multiple employee levels and outside stakeholders.Held responsibility as permit approver in a permit to work system - including LO/TO, inhibit and override, hot work, confined space entry.Working knowledge of safety and integrity critical equipment and systems, including associated functional testing.Experience with incident investigation processes (i.e. 5 why, Taproot).Understanding of process safety fundamentals.Experienced with domestic and/or International electrical codes and standards.
