Serves in a problem-solving capacity, as an advocate for residents. Provides accurate assessments and intervene with effective treatment plans that empowers residents' coping skills. Maintains a written record of the frequency and nature of any qualified social work consultations and services provided or obtained. Assists the Marketing Department with pre-entrance level of care/independence assessments as needed. Orients new residents to Garden Spot Village services and assists in their adjustment to the routines and schedules. Assists Life Enrichment with Village Life Orientation. Maintains a positive working relationship with the Social Service Departments of local hospitals, physician's groups and other retirement communities. What do I need for this role with Garden Spot?College graduate with a minimum of a BA from a school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Experience with geriatrics is preferred. Fundamental knowledge of social service programs available to the elderly is a benefit to have and/or willingness to be trained in specific programs utilized in the department.Ability and desire to work with the elderly; ability to build relationships.
