Business Development Manager

Based in Washington DC, the Business Development Manager will expand existing engagements and establish new customers as CIYIS continues to grow sales pertaining to our US Federal Government market plan. In this role, the Business Development Manager should have a strong business acumen that accompanies deep knowledge of US Federal Government civilian agencies. The Business Development Manager will identify, qualify, negotiate, and close large-scale complex deals and drive sales revenue targets. Their primary focus will be to develop an extensive pipeline of new sales leads, provide product and sales demonstrations to prospective customers, and formulate appropriate business relationships with new/existing accounts. Role Responsibilities: Prospect and develop business relationships, close sales, and manage customer expectations as the company grows. Strong understanding of Federal Government trends and buying practices. Strong track record generating and closing business opportunities with government agencies. Strong track record of generating and closing subcontracting opportunities with prime contractors. Preferred knowledge and experience with Government Appropriations and the contracting process. Leverage established relationships within the marketplace that will help to develop & maintain firm strategic alliances within the Federal Government marketplace. Active involvement in the Government industry, trade and/or professional associations. Work closely with technical pre-sales to ensure a cohesive effort is put forth when demonstrating CIYIS’ products and services. Work aggressively to develop the adequate sales pipeline needed to achieve or exceed your sales targets and goals. Maintain a strong level of pipeline hygiene using best practice CRM solutions. Collaborate and innovate as needed to create customer-facing presentations and proposals unique to the prospect, requirements, and/or business case. Qualifications/Education: Bachelor's degree required. 8+ years of related experience in ERP software, Cloud and/or technical consulting services sales required along with a demonstrated track record of success. 8+ years' experience selling to government customers including understanding the nuances of US Federal Government sales cycles and how to navigate through the process. Successful track record of developing leads, proposal development, and winning contracts with defense and civilian federal agencies. Working knowledge of SBA and FAR rules and regulations. A clear record of quota achievement and metrics-driven approach to prospecting and managing a pipeline through to a successful close. Proficiency in tracking potential opportunities and forecasting accurately on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis. Excellent proposal writing and verbal skills with an attention to organization, detail, and quality presentation. Demonstrated success finding and winning business with US Federal Government customers Ability to forecast accurately and manage a pipeline of opportunities. Ability to source, sell, co-sell, and close large deals; carrying quota and closing should be familiar concepts. Ability to do deep discovery and build relationships to enable negotiations regarding variations in prices, delivery and customer specifications to their managers. Strong judgment and decision-making skills with the ability to effectively negotiate favorable win-win terms for CIYIS and the client.
