As a Sales Engineer II at Spectrum, you’ll design and present advanced network solutions, guide junior engineers and lead technical strategy, partnering with sales teams and clients to deliver Managed Services, Fiber Internet, Ethernet and Unified Communications that drive business outcomes for major organizations. The position will require traveling 50% of the time between Ballwin, MO, and Overland Park, KS.How You’ll Make an ImpactCollaborate with sales teams and clients to assess requirements, design network solutions and deliver tailored proposals for data, voice and video servicesLead WAN and unified communications design, prepare technical documentation and present solutions for internal reviewMentor junior Sales Engineers and drive account planning for seamless integration and client satisfactionConduct product demonstrations, respond to RFI/RFPs and contribute to enterprise strategyOversee site surveys, post-sale documentation and coordinate project teams for efficient installationsDeliver technical training, maintain product expertise and support new launchesEnsure compliance and contribute to special projectsWorking ConditionsEligible employees may work from home up to one day each week under Spectrum’s Hybrid Work Policy, with primary work in an office settingWhat You’ll Bring to SpectrumRequired QualificationsEducationBachelor’s degree or equivalent technical training, education and experience in a related fieldExperience3+ years technical sales experience or experience supporting sales efforts for large enterprise customers in Sales Engineering or Networking roles in the telecom or service provider industrySkillsSkilled in designing WAN solutions for up to 100 sites using SD-WAN, Ethernet and legacy technologiesAdvanced understanding of data security systems, including firewalls, VPNs, DNS, routing, switching and protocols such as BGP, OSPF, CoS/QoS and emerging technologiesExpert in networking concepts like VPN, TCP/IP, MPLS, VPLS, DWDM, CWDM and multimedia applicationsExperienced in Unified Communications and voice protocols including SIP and VoIP for hosted and on-premises solutionsStrong leadership in mentoring junior engineers, multitasking and managing cross-functional projectsExcellent verbal and written communication, presentation and proposal design skillsProven ability to build lasting relationships with technical and executive leaders in large enterprises, influence IT and executive decision-making and contribute to RFI/RFP/RFQ processes.Proficient with MS Visio, Word, Excel and PowerPointConsultative solution design informed by industry trends, regulatory changes and enterprise decision-makingValid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and insurancePreferred QualificationsEducationBachelor’s degree or equivalent training, education and experience preferably focused on IT or Telecommunications Engineering TechnologyExperience5+ years experience in voice and data communications roles including Sales Engineering, Solution Architect, Network Engineering or Administration, Value Added Reseller or other technical positionsExperience in strategic account positioning with executive management and developing strategy and technical responses for RFP, RFI or RFxSkillsProfessional certifications in data networking, WANs, voice communications or network security from providers such as ISC, Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto or JuniperAbility to present service designs in clear terms, articulating benefits and outcomes#LI-MD2 SEN215 2025-63013 2025 Here, our employees don’t just have jobs, they're building careers.
