Description: Main Industries has been serving the marine and industrial market for over 40 years. Main Industries is currently hiring for a full-time CDL driver Class A for our Hampton location. No relocation or per diem available.Responsibilities: Qualified Person would work directly for the Scaffolding DepartmentTransport equipment and materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centersInspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenancePlan routes and meet delivery schedulesDocument and log work/rest periods and kilometers spent driving and retain fuel/toll receiptsComply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and proceduresManeuver trucks into loading or unloading positionsCollect and verify delivery instructionsReport defects, accidents or violationsAdditional responsibilities may include scaffold racking and stacking, scaffolding handling in a chain line, loading and unloading scaffolding from the truck, and/or scaffold inventoryJob Type: Full-time, hourlyRequirements:Must be at least 18 years' oldMust be able to drive operate a ManualProven work experience as a truck driverHands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB, etc.)Ability to drive long hours and travel regularlyExtensive knowledge of applicable DOT truck driving rules and regulationsNo recent moving or driving violationsAdaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.)Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendationsValid truck driving licenseExperience working in a physically demanding environment, confined spaces and working at heightsUnderstand and carry out verbal directions given by supervisorUnderstand and obey all posted warning, caution, notification and/or hazards signs posted on a job siteMust be able to lift 50 lbs. without assistanceForklift training/certification a plus (additional training will be required once hired for those using a forklift)Must be able to climb and work at elevated heights, 50+ feetA criminal background check may be requiredReliable transportation a mustNormal Working Hours 6am-2:30pm Monday- FridayBenefits: In addition to competitive pay, we provide a benefits package that is among the best in the industry.
