The Opportunity:

The Senior Product Manager is responsible for executing the strategic direction, development, and management of products within Safran Federal Systems. This role involves working with cross-functional teams to ensure that these products align with market demands, technical standards, and overarching business objectives. The ideal candidate will have proven product leadership experience and industry knowledge of PNT or related technologies.

Job Responsibilities:

Product Strategy Development: Execute the product line strategies that support overall business goals and address market needs within the industry. Define and maintain product roadmaps that align with the broader corporate vision, focusing on strategic goals, market demands, and measurable business outcomes.


Product Lifecycle Management: Manage the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to development to launch and post-launch evaluation, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Specify market requirements for current and future products as needed.

Market Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape using insights to inform product development and positioning. Deliver Marketing Requirement Documents (MRDs) and Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) with prioritized features and corresponding justification.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work collaboratively with engineering, sales, marketing and operations to ensure successful product launches and ongoing product support. Coordinate training for the sales force, ensuring they are informed of product features, updates, and pricing to effectively position and sell the product.

Financial Management: Monitor product line performance including budget management, forecasting and profitability analysis to ensure financial targets are achieved.

Customer Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key customers and stakeholders to gather feedback, address concerns and address product offerings.

Team Leadership:

Champion and implement product management best practices across engineering and other cross-functional stakeholders, fostering an environment conducive to innovation and continuous improvement. Provide guidance and mentorship through influence to align product initiatives with strategic objectives.


What you bring to Safran Federal Systems:


  • Bachelors degree in engineering, business, or equivalent military experience is required
  • A minimum of 5 years of product development experience with an additional 5 years in product management, preferably within the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Strong understanding of industry regulations and standards.
  • Proven track record of successful product development and life cycle management.
  • Strong analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Deep industry knowledge and understanding of market dynamics.
  • Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and technology trends.
    • Ability to reason logically and make sound decisions, to consider alternative and diverse perspectives, to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, to remain poised under all circumstances, and to interact effectively with people in a positive manner that engenders confidence and trust.
    • Excellent writing skills with the ability to generate large documents on short timelines.
    • Secret level security clearance with the willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
    • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
    • Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
    • Experience in GNSS, A-PNT, navigation, or related industries preferred.
