Medical Billing Manager

We are seeking an energetic, detail-oriented, and multitasking Medical Billing Manager to lead our billing team. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with other managers and departments to ensure financial success and regulatory compliance for the practice. This key leadership role focuses on optimizing revenue streams, maintaining operational efficiency, and upholding the financial health of the organization.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective revenue cycle strategies, including patient registration, insurance verification, coding, billing, and collections.
  • Reconcile billing accounts to the general ledger and generate accurate monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Ensure timely and precise submission of insurance claims and patient bills.
  • Supervise and train billing department staff, conducting performance evaluations and promoting skill development.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Stay current with healthcare billing and coding standards and ensure team training on updates.
  • Address patient billing inquiries and complaints professionally and promptly.
  • Collaborate with providers to ensure accurate documentation and coding.
  • Optimize billing software and EHR systems to ensure data integrity and security.
  • Implement process improvements and technological solutions to enhance efficiency.
  • Perform financial audits, implement safeguards, and prepare financial statements, forecasts, and reports.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, healthcare, or a related field, with at least 3 years of experience.
    • Associate degree with 5+ years of experience may be considered.
    • 2+ years of supervisory experience required
    • 2+ years of experience in medical billing and coding, with proficiency with Veradigm (previously AllScripts) required.

  • Skills & Expertise:

    • Strong understanding of medical billing procedures and compliance standards.
    • Proven leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to manage and motivate teams.
    • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
    • Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
    • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills.
