Occupational Summary
Assist the Faculty Director in the administration and operational management of “Let the Children Come,” a sponsored program at Duke Divinity School to strengthen children’s participation in worship.
This position is funded through a grant with an end date of December 31, 2029.
Work Performed- Collaborate and contribute as a member of the leadership team with faculty director, advisory committee, and regional facilitators to the development and execution of grant activities and objectives.
- Manage grant objectives and tasks, coordinating and implementing operations such as research activities, trainings and convenings, special events, and general business matters.
- Manage and coordinate grant finances, trainings, research and publications, and events to ensure fulfillment of the program objectives.
- Develop and implement program protocol, procedures, and operating policies.
- Interpret departmental policies and procedures, particularly related to grants and contracts, in accordance with University policies and sponsors' requirements regarding records, reports, controls and conditions governing expenditures of funds.
- Monitor, verify, and reconcile expenditure of budgeted funds.
- Prepare operational and financial reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.
- Coordinate special programs and events including invitations to speakers and facilitators, arranging schedules, facilities, and publicity and ensuring necessary financial arrangements.
- Prepare and implement communications (emails, newsletters, brochures, and other digital or print publications) to describe the program's goals and activities with internal and external stakeholders.
- Represent the program to University, professional, and ecclesial organizations, associations, committees and/or meetings and conferences as appropriate.
- Serve as first responder to facilitator and regional coordinator requests for resourcing and guidance on grant activities.
- Correspond with interested churches, children’s ministry leaders, denominational bodies, and other individuals and organizations as appropriate to provide information concerning activities, policies and procedures of the program.
- Travel within the central and eastern U.S. as agreed upon with faculty director to support the grant activities (listening sessions, trainings, convenings, and evaluative visits) as outlined in the sponsored program grant document.
- Recommend various personnel actions including, but not limited to, contractual agreements with Fellows, administrative staff and/or student workers, and regional facilitators, tracking outcomes and recommending adjustments where needed.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Minimum QualificationsEducationWork requires communications, analytical and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program
ExperienceWork generally requires two years experience in personnel, college or university administration, or a related field to acquire skills necessary to provide program management, advising and general administrative support OR ANY OTHER EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE.
