Job Summary

PSEG is looking for talented technology professionals to join our team. Our vision is to power the digital future of PSEG. We are partners with the business and we are driving business outcomes through innovative use of technology. This position is located in our General Office located in Newark, New Jersey.

This posting is specifically for the Information Technology Associate Program (ITAP). ITAP is a program that will consist of a 6-month rotation in each of the three functional tracks within PSEG Information Technology: Management & Execution, Customer Relationships, Strategy & Governance. As a recent college graduate, this comprehensive 18-month rotational development program will introduce you to the dynamic world of the energy industry. Our goal is to cultivate the foundational skills needed to improve business outcomes, lead high performing teams, and to grow as an agile employee. We recruit highly motivated candidates with a proven track record of leadership, teamwork, and collaboration skills.

This is an entry level position. PSEG provides a strong network of support for our IT Associates. Each Associate is assigned a manager for each rotation and a program mentor to guide them through the entire program. After completion of the Information Technology Associate Program, IT Associates may apply for a permanent position within the PSEG IT organization.

Job Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical specifications
  • Design, test, and implement applications that enhance business processes
  • Provide support and training to end-users for developed applications
  • Create training documentation to support applications
  • Support clients by providing instructions to resolve their application updates, requests for new services, or to assist with data visualization needs
  • Continuously learn and improve skills related to emerging technologies
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvements
  • Interface with other areas of IT for engineering and infrastructure support
  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex technical issues, providing effective solutions
  • Maintain detailed records of system configurations, changes, and resolutions
  • Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans
  • Perform regular system audits to ensure compliance with security policies and standards
  • Collaborate on the development of strategic technology plans and roadmaps
Job Specific Qualifications


Required (Education, Experience, Skills, Knowledge):
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Math or related technical field to be received within 6 months of receiving your offer.
  • Level of experience required ranges from internship to 2 years of experience within the IT field or an industry with reliance on technical expertise.
  • Experience with Power BI and/or other data visualization software
  • Overall strong technical proficiency in information technology/computer disciplines
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Self-starter with the demonstrated ability to learn new technical concepts quickly
  • Detail oriented and demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, IT management and staff
  • Good communications, consultative and interpersonal skills, including oral, written and presentation
  • Ability to work in a 24x7 environment with callout availability required
