What to Expect

The Material Planning group in Supply Chain is responsible for the reliable and efficient flow of all production materials to Tesla’s factories and Service locations. As Data Analyst in the Process and Analytics team, you will deliver data insights that are critical in order to support increasing production volume and fleet size. You will work with the planning team and stakeholders in other organizations to define business requirements for reporting and formulate applicable data-driven solutions. This requires you to acquire subject matter knowledge about the Material Planning process, systems and KPIs. It is essential that you can think strategically, connecting the dots in the bigger picture, as well as being comfortable in the details of the deliverables. To be a successful candidate for this role you have to be a self-motivated for data analytics and continuously demonstrates an ability to tackle complex problems and implement solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Define key performance indicators to track process operational performance and apply data mining, analysis and visualization for KPI reporting
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Create reports and data visualizations to guide decision-making across material planning team
  • Drive problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives to improve supply chain operations processes
  • Support management with dashboards, KPIs and ad-hoc analyses to assess business impact and priorities
  • Independently handle multiple projects at a time meeting objectives and deadlines
  • Apply out of the box thinking, problem-solving abilities and operational supply chain experience to derive solutions
  • Own system requirements, and participate in the software development process from design to user acceptance testing

What You'll Bring

  • Degree in Science or Engineering, evidence of exceptional ability, or equivalent experience with 3+ years’ work experience in material planning, supply chain, manufacturing, or business operations
  • Structured, data-driven and quantitative problem-solving approach
  • Ability to query from large data set in SQL, analyze and present data
  • Proven ability to set expectations, manage to deadlines and hold individuals and teams accountable to critical milestones
  • Collaborative, flexible, open working style and an ability to establish trust and credibility
  • Programming (R, Python), preferred
  • Experience creating dashboards using Tableau (or similar) visualization tools, preferred

Expected Compensation

$108,000 - $186,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
