Duties: Position leads clerical or technical personnel performing a variety of tasks or gathering information, performing statistical analyses, studying administrative problems, and developing improved systems, procedures, and forms. May issue instructions on behalf of a supervisor. Contact with the public is an important element of the job. Work involves identifying, developing, and administering new administration systems and establishing measurement standards for performance. Work is performed with considerable independence within established policy and procedures and requires exercising tact and discretion in dealing with the public and divisions. Answer Engineering Main Line and assist citizens/contractors with inquiries. Primary responsibility to arrange, copy, and distribute Contract plans and specifications sold to customers for bidding purposes. Assist engineering staff with reports and presentations, including graphics and displays, including coordinating facility reservation requirements. Responsible for sorting and distributing department mail, mailing out letters/correspondence. Maintain high attendance level due to critical nature of assignments. Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service. Handle the more complex and technical problems and customer inquiries. Prepare and maintain all related required reports, files and records. Keeps detailed and accurate records. Completes necessary forms for retrieval of data and compiles reports from collected data. Monitors and compares data to determine compliance with prescribed operating standards. Prepare Agenda Requests and recommendation letters for Pipeline Franchise requests. Contact applicants to inform them when their permits/plans are ready for pick-up. Assist applicants with brief questions about Flood Plain Development permits/Elevation Certificates/Utility Availability Applications/Fill Permits/Culvert Installation Applications. Coordinating with staff in assisting with Harris County Flood Control Regulations. Track and maintain up to date contractor/consultant insurance certificates. Manages responses to complaints from the action hotline. Communicates with engineers, architects, and property owners to provide them the information they need to streamline development within the City of Pasadena or to review comments made during the plan review. Provide support to Administrative Assistant

Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and ttwo years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. PREFERRED: Bilingual (English/Spanish)

    • From 21 to less than 26 years of service - five weeks of vacation per year.
    • From 26 years of service and up - six weeks of vacation per year.
