Responsibilities
  • Provide specialized instruction in cinematography techniques, lighting, and camera operation to students at various skill levels.
  • Collaborate with faculty to design and implement curricula that reflect current industry trends and best practices.
  • Support students in pre-production, production, and post-production phases, offering expertise on visual storytelling, camera angles, shot composition, and lighting design.
  • Maintain and manage cinematography equipment, ensuring availability, functionality, and safety.
  • Organize and oversee student shoots, providing technical support, feedback, and mentorship.
  • Stay updated on advancements in cinematography technology, including digital and traditional camera systems, lenses, lighting instruments, and post-production tools.
  • Participate in workshops, demonstrations, and industry events to enhance student learning.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the college's media production facilities.
  • Support administrative tasks related to cinematography courses, such as scheduling, resource allocation, and student assessments.
Qualifications
  • MFA in Motion Picture Arts or above.
  • At least 10+ years of professional experience in cinematography, camera operation, or related fields. Must have hands-on experience in virtual production photography.
  • Strong teaching or mentoring experience, ideally in a higher education setting. Ability to break down complex technical concepts into accessible lessons.
  • A strong portfolio of work demonstrating exceptional cinematographic skills and creative visual storytelling.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Professional recognition such as Emmys, and /or student achievements directly related to the applicants Instruction.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment and technical challenges during film productions.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an academic or instructional role, especially within a film school environment.
  • Familiarity with virtual production techniques and emerging technologies in the film industry.
