As the Internal Audit Analyst, you will be a key team member of the Internal Audit team. You will provide high-quality controls, process, and audit documentation as well as communication opportunities for business process efficiencies and improvements. This is a high-profile position that will interact with leaders of the company across various disciplines. You will assist the Director of Internal Audit in executing the annual SOX testing, completing the internal audit plan, supporting loss prevention matters, and consulting on management requests that arise throughout the normal course of business.
Responsibilities/Qualifications
The Internal Audit Analyst key responsibilities include:
Internal Controls (50%)
- Assist in the Director of Internal Audit in completing the annual risk assessment and scoping process to develop the annual control testing plan.
- Prepare well-documented and organized workpapers that facilitate the reviewer’s understanding of source of data, program steps and rationale for testing, results, and effectiveness of controls.
- Monitor and communicate audit findings and SOX deficiencies to management.
- Develop and assist in the implementation of recommendations to improve internal controls and operating processes.
- Conduct appropriate follow-up/remediation procedures.
- Completion of quarterly reports, and any ad-hoc reporting requests, required by management, external auditors, and others.
- Assist in the Director of Internal Audit in completing the annual risk assessment and scoping process to develop the annual internal audit plan.
- Conduct operational audits of processes based upon their perceived risk and/or importance to attainment of PSP goals and objectives.
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures, rules and regulations as prescribed by management and/or external agencies.
- Partner with loss prevention on data analysis, transaction monitoring, store visits, and case management.
- Support leadership with ad hoc reporting and process improvement projects.
- Function as a liaison between PSP and external auditors and consultants, as needed.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (preferably with a concentration in accounting) is required.
- MBA, CPA, CIA, or CISA certification is preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in public accounting or corporate accounting is required. Strong preference for experience with controls or internal/external auditing.
- Knowledge of GAAP, PCAOB, and Sarbanes Oxley requirements. Experience with developing or auditing SOX Section 404 documentation is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to express complex ideas in simple terms.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills as well as a keen attention to detail; ability to manage projects with varying lengths and timelines.
- Ability to build relationships cross-functionally to drive attainment of goals and objectives.
- Familiarity with IT systems, Microsoft Office applications and controls is preferred; Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a bonus.
- Limited travel (10-15%).
- Ability to work hybrid position 3-days/week in-office.
