Our local nonprofit client seeks a compassionate, organized, and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to grow with their team This role offers an inclusive, inviting work environment, and the opportunity to take part in fulfilling, mission-oriented, and values-driven work that is aimed at making an impact in the lives of others.

This is a hybrid role requiring 2-3 days a week onsite in Portland, Oregon.

Payroll Specialist Responsibilities
Support semi-monthly payroll processing activities.
Review timesheets for accuracy.
Respond to employees and external vendors regarding payroll inquiries and issues.
Maintain accurate and compliant employee records.
Assist with open enrollment processes, new hire setup, benefit reconciliations, payments, and reports.
Ad-hoc administrative tasks to support HR functions.

Payroll Specialist Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills.
At least 2 years of payroll experience.
Knowledge of current labor laws and related regulations.
Proficiency with HRIS and payroll software; Kronos and/or UKG experience a plus.
Familiarity with MS Office Suite including intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service.
Ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task.

Salary: $23-$30/hr. (DOE)
